Cüneyt Göktaş, Chairman of the Board of Aksaray Chamber of Commerce and Industry, addressed the Energy Market Regulatory Authority and warned that some regulations in the Draft Regulation on Amending the Unlicensed Electricity Generation Regulation in the Electricity Market would cause serious problems.
Pointing out that with the “Unlicensed Electricity Production Regulation in the Electricity Market” published on May 12, 2019 and in force, the consumption subscribers are provided with the opportunity to build an unlicensed Solar Power Plant (SPP) twice the Contract Power, Göktaş said that with the new regulation made by EPDK, consumption surplus He emphasized that it is foreseen that the energy will be given to the system free of charge, and this will lead to great injustice.
Stating that the newly published regulation also covers investments made after 2019 retrospectively, ATSO President Göktaş said in his statement; With the newly published regulation, our companies that have invested in this field in 2020, 2021 and 2022 and have taken a serious loan and tended to this field, will experience huge losses with this published regulation and will not be able to sell what they produce. We would like to underline something here and make a recommendation to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority.
If we look at the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, when the productions that are used for purposes other than the ones EMRA has given as an example continue, the real producer's inability to produce occurs because the capacity is full. This regulation is a necessary regulation, but we would like to underline that if this decision is valid for the investments to be made from now on, our previous investors have not suffered any losses and the new ones will make their programs and investments accordingly.
If EMRA takes our advice into consideration, a problem that currently occupies Turkey's agenda will be eliminated. We believe that our government will take this call into account and will review the regulation and revise the regulation in order to exempt investors between the period after 2019 until the date of the regulation. We believe that our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN, who has taken into account the demands of the business world so far, will take the necessary steps to revise this regulation, and we know that he will stand by our investors who are unjustly victimized, and we do not support the decision of EPDK.
