Ahmet Koçaş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aksaray Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized that Aksaray has achieved great growth by breaking records in the field of industry in the last 20 years, and now stated that this growth should also be shown in the tourism sector.
It should be noted that Aksaray, which is located on the historical Silk Road and is the gateway to Cappadocia, is a tourism paradise with hundreds of historical sites such as Ihlara Valley, Güzelyurt settlement and underground cities, Gelveri houses, Selime Cathedral, Ancient Nora City, Hasandağı, Aşıklı Höyük. Koçaş stated that there is now a need to take action in tourism.
In his statement, Koçaş said, "Aksaray has achieved significant success in the field of industry and continues this growth process successfully. However, it is no longer possible for us to ignore our tourism potential. Our city, which is located on the Silk Road and has hosted many civilizations throughout history, has also made a great contribution to tourism." "Starting from Ihlara Valley, we should launch a tourism initiative in our region, which has unique historical and natural beauties. This will both contribute to the economy of our city and be an important support for the promotion of our cultural heritage," he said.
Emphasizing that Aksaray's potential in tourism should be realized, Koçaş added that local governments and the business world should act together and invest in the tourism sector.
