ATSO, THE PROJECT CENTER OF 2021, STARTS THE COUNTDOWN TO BRING ANOTHER PROJECT TO ITS MEMBERS

Added Date : 06-09-2021

Aksaray Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which received full marks from its members with the projects it implemented in 2021, started the countdown to implement another important project.

ATSO, which made preparations for the establishment of the Arbitration and Mediation Center in Aksaray, which started its activities in very few chambers affiliated to the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, and obtained the right to establish the center by successfully completing the process, started planning the opening date for the project.

Cüneyt Göktaş, Chairman of the Board of Directors, who made a statement on the subject and gave information about the ATSO Arbitration and Mediation Center, said in his statement; “With ATSOTAM, the Aksaray Arbitration and Mediation Center, which we will launch in Aksaray, we aim to prevent the business world from turning to mediation in legal disputes and thus preventing the members from losing time and reputation in their commercial relations. As it is known, Arbitration is of great importance as it is the most preferred dispute resolution method in today's commercial relations. It is important for our members to include the exemplary ATSO Arbitration Clause in their contracts with both our other members and domestic or foreign companies in order to ensure that the dispute is resolved quickly and effectively in case of a possible dispute.

Arbitration is a widely used method in many countries to resolve commercial disputes quickly and effectively. States that want to make their countries more attractive in terms of arbitration have changed or renewed their legislation. Our country has not been a spectator to the developments in arbitration, and has kept up with the developments in the world, both with the arrangements it has made in its national legislation and with the international agreements to which it is a party.

Limiting the intervention of the courts in the arbitration proceedings, the shortness of the arbitration proceedings, minimized procedural formalities, the parties' free determination of the place of arbitration, the presence of expert and well-known arbitrators, and the confidentiality of the proceedings are the most important issues for the actors of international trade. It is an expedient solution for the parties to include the arbitration clause in their contracts in order for the disputes to be resolved quickly, economically and by expert arbitrators, who prioritize the agreement of the parties' wills. That's why the countdown has begun for the commissioning and opening of our Aksaray Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arbitration and Mediation Center, which we established in order to quickly resolve the legal problems of our members. We are about to complete our preparations so that our TOBB President M.Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu can participate by planning our opening calendar. I welcome the activation of the Arbitration and Mediation Centers, which will gain great importance especially with the enactment of the New Law and the introduction of Commercial Disputes to the centres, in our Chamber, which will set an example in Aksaray, and wish that this project will be beneficial for our members.”
