Aksaray Governor Hamza Aydoğdu, ATSO Chairman of the Board Cüneyt Göktaş, İŞKUR Provincial Director Mahmut Akkuş, OSB Manager Ayhan Ermiş, ATSO Deputy Chairman Ahmet Kulak and Rafet Altınpınar attended the summit, where the problems of the sector and solution suggestions were expressed.
Stating that the summit was positive for the sector and that a new platform was established, ATSO President Göktaş said in his statement, “We came together with the officials of our Textile Companies operating in Aksaray at the summit and discussed the situation and needs of the sector, as well as their expectations, and tried to find solutions. While the density and occupancy experienced in industrial cities such as Istanbul, Bursa, and Gebze in Turkey lead new investors to alternative routes, Aksaray comes first among these alternatives. Today, Aksaray is one of the rapidly growing textile giant provinces of Turkey. World brands are investing in our city, and textile companies, especially contract manufacturing, are also heading to our city. The most important problem of the sector is in finding qualified personnel. Regarding this, while expressing to our companies that a Textile Department was opened in TOBB Vocational High School, our esteemed Governor stated that he would work to open departments on textiles in other vocational high schools if needed. Also, at the summit we held, we established a textile manufacturers platform and, with the approval of our Governor, determined our ATSO Vice President Ahmet Kulak as the President of the platform. This platform will meet with sector representatives frequently, listen to their problems and demands and convey them to the relevant institutions and organizations together with us. Since the platform will be in the kitchen of the business, the problems will be detected in a shorter time and the solution will be realized at the same speed. In this sense, I wish our Textile Summit, which we think was productive, to bring good luck, and I would like to thank our İŞKUR Manager, OIZ Manager and investors on behalf of our business world, especially our Governor.
